ASA are currently recruiting for a Communications Officer to join our public sector client in a role that offers flexibility in working locations across Scotland.
About the Role
As a Communications Officer, you'll:
1. Create high-quality, accessible written content tailored to diverse audiences.
2. Simplify complex information for internal and external stakeholders.
3. Manage and update websites using the Umbraco CMS.
4. Support user research to enhance engagement and identify content opportunities.
5. Apply SEO best practices to improve website discoverability and engagement.
6. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
What You'll Bring
Essential Skills:
1. Proven experience in a communications role, with a strong understanding of audience needs.
2. Expertise in content creation, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
3. Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and SEO principles.
4. Ability to balance competing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Teams, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
Desirable Skills:
1. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or Google Analytics 4.
2. Experience working in public sector or project-driven environments.
3. Awareness of GDPR and data privacy principles.
Additional Information
1. Flexible on Edinburgh or Glasgow as a location.
2. Contract until 31st March 2025.
3. Pay rate of £16.50 - £20 per hour.
