Job Description:
This Procurement Account Manager position is a unique opportunity to play an important role within the Procurement team at Leonardo; a global high-tech company and one of the key players in Aerospace, Defence and Security.
Located in Yeovil, at the Home of British Helicopters, you will be uniquely placed to see the output of your labours every day.
This opportunity requires a varied and diverse skillset with an emphasis on Procurement; offering the opportunity to learn and develop, using both on-the-job training and our myriad of e-learning platforms.
You will have exposure to a wide range of functions/ disciplines within the company to build a network in order to deliver the contract and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
This role is referred to internally as a Procurement Programmes Specialist and is a management level role within the company and a level 6 role on our Salary and Career Progression (S&CPF) framework.
Key Responsibility Areas
1. You will be accountable to deliver promises made by the purchasing team with regards to budget, lead time and quality
2. You will be required to set up mechanisms to be able to report progress on a monthly basis.
3. You will be the conduit between the buyers, programmes and the other functions to ensure the buyers get what they need to be able to place orders on time, as well as ensuring the functions have all the information they need from Procurement.
4. Any new items required by the customer, needing to be developed, will also sit under your accountability holding the purse strings for your allotted customer.
5. You will be assigned one or more customer projects that you will own cradle to grave as the Integrated Project Team (IPT) lead for Procurement.
6. You are not a programme manager, but you will be managing elements of a programme
7. You are not a buyer, but will need to act on their behalf ensuring they have what they need
8. You are not a data analyst, but will be manipulating information across several software platforms to create reports.
9. You are the main interface between purchasing and the rest of the company and this is most effective in person/on site however flexible working is available, giving you an opportunity to work from home.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
What do we need?
10. You will represent Procurement within an Integrated Project Team so you will need to have knowledge of the procurement process
11. Someone who is confident, able to get the information required and able to challenge where appropriate, whilst maintaining good relations working at many levels within the business – in other words, excellent interpersonal skills
12. Someone who can cope independently with high workload in a pressured environment and be able to prioritise effectively
13. Someone who is keen and able, with support, to embrace new challenges and to learn new skills.
14. Someone who is competent user of MS Office applications and able to use MS Excel effectively – using Pivots, VLookups and some understanding of formulas is a ‘must have’ and ability to confidently manipulate large data sets to create reports essential.
What would be an advantage, but if you don’t have it, it can be taught.
15. Some experience in managing similar activity in equivalent sector
16. To have some knowledge or experience of the aerospace sector
