Job summary – What to expect: As a Senior Inventory Operator, you will be working closely with the Team Leader to motivate, guide and lead a team of Inventory Operators. You will ensure that customer requirements, policies, procedures, and legislative requirements are met. In addition, you will: Allocate resources to ensure that the shift tasks, objectives, and targets are achieved to the required standards within specified time frames. Control the flow of Inventory and Materials through communication with both internal and external suppliers. Oversee ‘in house’ Transport to ensure minimum disruption and maximum service levels are provided. Accountable for receiving incoming product from internal and external sources, identifying, and putting away, verifying all items are correct, complete, and present and available for picking. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects including analysing and collecting data as required. Investigate and respond to issues in relation to Inventory; communicating where necessary any relevant information to your Team Leader to ensure minimum disruption and maximum service levels. Manage the picking and shipping of orders for both internal and external customers as required. Liaise with external suppliers and/or the Facilities Department for repairs and services on lift trucks, plant, equipment, and vehicles. Have a good understanding and practical working knowledge of all relevant H.R Procedures; including disciplinary, grievance, recruitment, and inductions. Act on a wide variety of HR procedures e.g. recruitment, return to work interviews and some disciplinary measures. Perform cycle counts using Knapp OSR/Baan/ JDA, physically count stock and enter data on the RF Guns and on to Paper Count Check lists. Oversee system generated cycle counts and monitor through to completion and carry out any audits required. Update PI Spreadsheet with cycle count data. About you: We are looking for someone with an aptitude for problem-solving and the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team to nurture a forward-thinking and flexible work ethic. Experience & Education: Basic understanding of the equipment relevant to the specified area including in house applications, e.g. Baan, JDA, Knapp, Tableau Reports. Able to use Microsoft Excel and other Office packages to create, update reports and produce business correspondence. Experience of contributing to management reports on a weekly and monthly basis. Experience of working on company projects. Good understanding of H.R procedures. Attention to detail. Able to drive vehicles in the warehouse. Good Standard of written and spoken English is essential. Prepared to attend additional internal and external training events and achieve recognised qualifications as required by the role. I.e. ILM Level 2, Lean Yellow Belt Work Environment: The post holders working environment is a large open-plan warehouse; temperatures in the warehouse fluctuate due to seasonal variations. All necessary personal protective equipment must be worn along with the use of the correct manual handling equipment and operating techniques. As well as some lifting the majority of products are transported throughout the building on movable cages which can also be heavy. Some working at height may be involved for this position.
