*The role*
We have an exciting opportunity for an *Infrastructure Engineer* to join our Technology team on a Fixed Term/Secondment basis here at Southern Housing.
The role of the Infrastructure Engineer is to build, coordinate, and maintain Southern Housing's IT environment so that the business can deliver technology services that enable us to be a world-class housing association. The role covers maintaining our network infrastructure, server, and cloud storage and maintenance, to ensure that our technology services are reliably available to agreed service levels, in line with business expectations.
The Infrastructure Engineer will provide expert knowledge on varying platforms and portals, such as Statseeker, Solarwinds, Aruba and CATO, to ensure Southern Housing achieves its goals for technology services. They will also assist with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the technology infrastructure systems and software, including backup processes and procedures and contribute to the implementation of upgrades and new systems.
This role will be based at our Sittingbourne office, working in a hybrid way, with arrangements to be discussed and agreed with your line manager.

*What you’ll do:*
* Provide expert knowledge on infrastructure and platforms, to ensure Southern Housing achieves its goals for technology services
* Deliver high-quality support enabling sites and services to operate with high levels of resilience and reliability. Ensure availability for infrastructure support at times and locations as directed by the infrastructure manager.
* Provide subject matter expertise for all approved IaaS and PaaS services, respond promptly to escalated incidents and requests, and build reusable artifacts ready for deployment to cloud environments
* Work closely with IT Security to ensure that all systems are maintained to the agreed security standards
* Assist with the transition of systems and travel to various Southern Housing locations to validate the quality of implementations and adherence to customer requirements
*What you’ll need*
* Deep understanding of current and emerging cloud technology landscape
* Experience and technical knowledge of providing support for server hardware
* Experience of Incident Management and identification of root cause analysis
* Experience of creating and deploying creative infrastructure solutions in line with organisational change control procedures.
* Excellent customer and stakeholder management with a gift for engaging end users
* Excellent Microsoft Azure platform skills
* A strong knowledge Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, DHCP.
