Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver multi-professional training to meet the Local and National requirements of our Midwifery and Obstetric Teams. Enabling safe quality care to all maternity service users and their families, and ensuring staff maintain confidence and competence in midwifery skills.
Main duties of the job
* Support the service in ensuring the provision of high quality evidence based care for mothers and babies, within available resources.
* The post holder will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of specialist educational and development strategy and programmes for Maternity services.
* The post holder will be responsible for developing innovative approaches to teaching, research and service provision, which allows us to be at the forefront of developments in patient care.
* Support the development and delivery of learning for all staff contributing to maternity care as specified in the Maternity Training Needs Analysis trust document.
* Participate, facilitate and monitor the training and individualised induction programme and preceptorship of new midwifery staff.
* Influence and contribute to the development of the education strategy within the unit.
* Develop, co-ordinate and evaluate the effectiveness of skills and drills training in relation to response in emergency situations and support the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective responses.
* Promote and develop appropriate training to promote effective midwifery care and minimise unnecessary intervention.
