ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Prospero Teaching is looking for a confident and energetic Teaching Assistant for a school in Chorlton. You will need to go out into the community to support the young people 1-1, and liaise with third party agencies.
You must be confident in implementing the school sport programme effectively promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles and be a perfect role model for pupils who are disengaged with their studies. The school is for students in a secondary school, many of whom have found it difficult to study in a mainstream school and some with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school is a provision for a range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, Aspergers Syndrome, speech and language difficulties and severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties, for example, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Previous experience delivering sports sessions
2. LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferable.
3. GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
4. Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
5. Team Teach qualified (or signed up to attend with our agency)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
1. Hold Right to Work in the UK
2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
3. Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
