Job Description
Millers Vanguard are seeking a highly organised and proactive Logistics Manager to oversee the efficient management of our vehicle fleet & warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all road vehicles are operated in a safe and compliant manner in relation to legislative, manufacturer, and company standards and for stock management of all parts and equipment held within our warehouses.
Main Duties & Key Responsibilities
Fleet
* Deliver the required day-to-day operations of Millers Vanguard Road Fleet Management activities relating to delivering a safe and compliant fleet. These include MOT and safety inspections, servicing, modifications, speeding, and parking notices.
* Deliver the required support to maintain a safe and compliant defined road fleet in line with current legislation.
* Deliver the required support functions to company drivers assigned relating to driver training, fuel card, insurance, servicing, and short-term hire arrangements as well as other numerous other services.
Stock Management
* Oversee stockholders to ensure accurate stock levels are always maintained.
* Implement robust stock control measures, including inventory checks, reconciliation, and reducing stock discrepancies.
* Optimise warehouse storage systems and layout for improved efficiency.
* Manage the receiving, inspection, and processing of deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality.
* Coordinate and track returns to suppliers or customers, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with company policies.
* Coordinate and track product warranty protocols and exchanges.
* Work closely with the procurement team to forecast and manage stock requirements.
* Identify opportunities to optimise warehouse and procurement costs without compromising on quality or service.
* Implement strategies to reduce waste and improve warehouse operational productivity.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
To be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:
* Knowledge of road fleet management.
* Knowledge of fleet day-to-day operations.
* Able to work under pressure with a continuous focus on delivery.
* Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of stock control and inventory management processes.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Strong communication skills.
Desirable
* Certificate of Professional Competence for Road Haulage Transport Manager.
* Relevant qualifications in supply chain management/logistics.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards in warehouse operations.
