My client in the Stourton area of Leeds are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter.
The company are looking for candidates with experience of the following
Factory based where they make precast concrete
Maintaining and repairing batching plant, Conveyors, HVAC systems (overhead crane if experienced)
Some fabricating and welding
Site has old machinery so maintenance and repairs are frequent
Preferably 4/5 years experience working in similar environment – concrete, building products, heavy industry
Duties of the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain various systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Interpret schematics and technical drawings to diagnose issues effectively.
Perform electrical repairs and maintenance, including work with logic controllers.
Utilise welding techniques as necessary for repairs or modifications.
Supervise maintenance staff and provide guidance on best practices.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of parts.
Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs promptly.
Uphold safety standards while performing tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
Provide excellent customer service by responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Requirements for the Role
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
Proficiency in electrical systems, including logic controllers.
Experience in welding is advantageous but not essential.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
Strong logical reasoning skills for effective problem-solving.
Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills are essential for customer interactions.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
