Role Overview
As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we seek a highly motivated, proficient, and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our commercial team, focusing on growing our public sector market of local authorities in England.
As our BDR, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and building and maintaining relationships with target accounts; playing a crucial role in the sales cycle by identifying and qualifying prospects and commissioning opportunities, maintaining our CRM of target accounts and leads, developing and implementing multichannel outreach strategies, securing meetings for the sales team, and supporting the wider team in securing and successfully renewing accounts.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Partnerships, and working very closely with our Founder & CEO and Customer Success Manager, you will play an important role in contributing to the continued growth of our organisation and pursuit of our mission. As a core member of a cross-functional, collaborative, and fast-paced commercial team, you will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our goals, tactics, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting thorough research to identify prospects, key decision-makers, and commissioning opportunities within our target accounts.
* Developing and implementing multichannel outreach strategies across email, LinkedIn, phone and other channels; generating awareness, interest, and engagement in our value proposition.
* Qualifying, scoring, and reporting on leads in HubSpot.
* Securing and setting up meetings for the Sales Team; shadowing sales calls and supporting with follow-up where necessary.
* Developing and maintaining a database of open commissioning/tender opportunities, including deadlines, requirements, and potential bid strategies; supporting the Founder & CEO in collating responses to bids where necessary.
* Attending virtual and in-person (England only) prospecting and market engagement events; representing EasyPeasy to potential clients and partners.
* Attending and exhibiting at virtual and in-person (England only) industry conferences and events.
* Supporting the team in researching and cultivating relationships with potential partners in the voluntary and community sector (VCS) to foster collaboration opportunities.
* Collaborating with sales and marketing colleagues to ensure a smooth handover of qualified leads and provide relevant information to facilitate the sales process.
* Taking the initiative to become an expert on our product and value proposition; working closely with the Product and Engineering team.
* Assisting the Head of Marketing & Partnerships in creating impactful communications and collateral to foster relationships with leads and active clients.
* Contributing to renewal efforts with existing clients, working closely with our Customer Success Manager.
* Supporting the wider team with other projects where reasonably required.
* Building and enriching target account data; maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of interactions and engagements via Hubspot CRM.
* Taking the initiative to stay informed about industry trends, government policies, and market developments related to children and family services and public health, including ongoing learning, reading, and continued professional development.
* Maintaining our competitor intel tracker and sharing any insights, feedback, or developments with the wider team.
Qualifications and Experience (required)
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Policy, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in sales/business development.
* Experience working with B2G and/or the public sector and/or voluntary and community sector (VCS).
* Experience using Hubspot or similar software.
Skills and Attributes (required)
* Strong sales acumen, understanding of sales processes, lead qualification, and market engagement strategies.
