PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Hygienic Pump Product Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of hygienic pump products, from concept development through commercialisation and end of life. This role includes strategic planning, product development, and market research to ensure the company’s hygienic pump products meet regulatory standards and customer requirements in industries such as food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, and biopharma. The Product Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product innovations, optimise portfolio performance, and align the product roadmap with business objectives.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage and direct product life cycle (NPD, PLM, ELP) to ensure a healthy product portfolio for Viking Pump Hygienic, including end-of-life decisions and rationalisation of underperforming products.
2. Lead 80/20 work, including quads/quartiles analysis; identification and execution of key levers to drive improvements.
3. Define the product vision and long-term portfolio strategy in collaboration with senior leadership.
4. Monitor P&L statements, tracking key financial metrics and focusing on maximising revenue, gross margins, and price capture.
5. Ensure product lines meet or exceed annual orders, sales, price capture, and profitability targets, adjusting strategy to address underperformance.
6. Collaborate with global Sales teams, channel partners, and end users to develop and implement the product strategy and roadmap for hygienic pumps based on market trends, customer needs, and competitor analysis.
7. Develop and implement robust and effective go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, pricing, and promotion plans in collaboration with marketing and sales teams.
8. Lead NPD product launch initiatives, including product training for sales teams and customer services.
9. Monitor product performance, gather feedback from customers and sales to identify areas for improvement or further development.
10. Manage other duties or projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. A Bachelor of Science degree in Business or related discipline.
2. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in strategic marketing and product management.
3. A minimum of 5+ years of cross-functional management and business leadership.
4. Demonstrated capability in understanding and distilling technology and market trends, and launching new products.
5. Proven track record in growth-focused Product Management, including NPD product launch, commercialization, and strategic planning.
6. Team player with excellence in collaboration as a leader and coach.
7. Analytical thinking, capable of leveraging data to make informed decisions about product strategy, pricing, and performance.
8. Financial acumen and experience leading 80/20 analysis and implementation.
9. Customer-centric, always keeping the end-user and their needs at the forefront of decision making.
10. Prior experience leading in a matrixed global organizational structure.
11. Up to 25% travel required (global).
IDEAL CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience in developing or commercialising products that serve the Hygienic production industries and familiarity with industry regulations.
2. Keen understanding of market trends and the ability to conduct detailed market research to identify customer needs, emerging trends, and growth opportunities.
3. Strong change management skills and experience.
4. Entrepreneurial skills and experience translating plans into commercially successful and profitable product offerings.
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
2. Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
3. Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
4. General manufacturing, warehouse, and office environment.
