Our client are specialists within the Civil Engineering industry and provide minor works on Railway, Infrastructure, Highways and Civil works. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be working for a company looking to nearly double their turnover in the next year to £30m, and this will be a key role in enabling them to get to this point.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will ideally come from a similar family-sized business that is used to working on multiple varied, fast-paced projects. The candidate will have at least 5 years' experience and be highly motivated and keen to progress within a growing company. Experience in change management and working on packages, as well as NEC and JCT type contracts, along with the ability to run projects up to £500,000, is required.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Position Remuneration
Salary up to £70K
5% Pension contribution, 4% employee
Discretionary Bonus up to 15%
Car allowance - £6000

Senior Quantity Surveyor Position Overview
1. Provide commercial management on projects and deliver tender margin-plus with effective cost and value management.
2. Commercial management of reactive and planned maintenance contracts within the rail industry.
3. Responsible for all commercial and contractual matters on multiple projects.
4. Assist estimating and operations with developing bid submissions.
5. Forecasting and cost/value reporting.
6. Supplier/sub-contract identification and tendering.
7. Procurement of resources to meet the programme and ideally tender.
8. Supply chain management and payment to ensure programme is maintained and buying opportunities are maximised.
9. Manage, develop and mentor junior members of the team.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements
1. Higher level (HNC or Degree) qualification in Quantity Surveying.
2. At least 5+ years commercial experience, ideally with involvement in infrastructure projects in the construction industry, particularly in rail and highways.
3. Have functional/technical skills associated with the field of Quantity Surveying.
4. NEC and JCT knowledge.
5. Cost management and change management experience.
6. A team player, operating cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals.
7. Problem solver, with the ability to make decisions that enhance organisational effectiveness.
8. Holds a full UK driving licence.
