Your role:
As a Front-end Web Developer at Wigan Council, you'll be a key player in enhancing our digital web presence. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, maintaining, and improving our web sites, ensuring they are user-friendly and accessible.
You'll work closely with all teams across the Council, transforming research findings into compelling design propositions and identifying new business opportunities. Your expertise in design and development will help us provide a seamless user experience, contributing to the Council’s strategic outcomes and priorities.
About you:
We're looking for a dynamic individual with a minimum of 2 years' experience in website development in a .NET environment. You should have good design skills and experience of creating user-friendly and visually compelling web interfaces.
You should have a strong understanding and experience of implementing web accessibility standards. Your ability to empathise with users and think about problems from their perspective will be crucial. You should be a critical thinker, ready to challenge assumptions and innovate new solutions. Your experience in managing service performance improvements and understanding of the legislative and key operational issues relevant to the post will be highly valued.
