We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP Maidstone, a men's prison.

HMP Maidstone operates like a self-contained town, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, your role is crucial in ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.
You will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment.

We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in:
1. Two years' experience as a plumber or equivalent
2. Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
3. Experience with commercial or industrial heating and water systems
4. Understanding of health and safety regulations
5. Qualifications: C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
6. Good health and safety knowledge
7. Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
