Finance Business Partner – Business Operations

Salary:
£80,000+ depending on skills and experience plus executive-level benefits package
What you’ll be doing:
Partner with Functional Directors to provide financial leadership and support
Cost & Capital Improvements: Drive cost reduction and capital process improvements, ensuring engagement from Finance Business Partners
Act as a trusted finance advisor, delivering high-quality financial insights
Lead Overhead Cost Performance for major functions, including Site, Supply Chain, Engineering, Nuclear Site Safety, SHE, and Airfield
Strengthen connections across Submarines Capital Investment and Programme Capital Portfolios, ensuring financial coherence and assurance
Shape key financial decisions, ensuring affordability, risk mitigation, and alignment with business goals
Your skills and experiences:
Strong understanding of financial management in large organisations, including lifecycle management, operational frameworks, and business transformation
Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across cross-functional teams and external partners
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, applying strategic thinking and complex problem-solving
Experience supporting large-scale programmes, ensuring financial oversight, compliance, and risk management
Strong communication, negotiation, and team leadership skills, with experience operating at senior management level
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with significant post-qualification experience and strong knowledge of financial control, assurance, and relevant accounting standards

The Cost Performance team:
The Finance Business Partnering role supports Cost Performance Business Partnering in Submarines, driving a cost-conscious culture and ensuring the Capital Investment portfolio is effectively managed. With significant business growth over the past six years, increasing cost pressures and budget constraints require strong financial oversight to maintain affordability and mitigate reputational risk. This role will partner with senior stakeholders, influence strategic investment decisions, and strengthen cost controls across the business to support sustainable financial performance. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
