Specialty Doctor Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Buckinghamshire CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Pathway
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been providing a comprehensive CAMHS service in Buckinghamshire for 7 years. The newly developed CAMHS service is based on a partnership between Oxford health NHS Foundation Trust (main contract holder) and Barnardos. The new service is based on the 'Thrive Model' and during October 2015 service transformed away from the traditional CAMHS tiered model to a service strongly influenced by children young people, their parents/carers and stakeholders began. The new model is based on ease of access, getting advice, consultation, support, and specialist clinical pathways.
We are seeking a 1.0 WTE Speciality Doctor to join our Buckinghamshire CAMHS Service. This new substantive speciality doctor post provides an exciting opportunity to be part of the Neurodevelopmental Pathway within Buckinghamshire CAMHS, predominantly working within the ADHD Clinic. The post has been created to support the further development of the service. The post is based at the Sue Nicholls Centre, Aylesbury but the role is countywide and may require clinical activity at other bases such as Saffron House.
Main duties of the job
The Neurodevelopmental Pathway provides several functions. It carries out neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18. It also provides management of ADHD for children and young people in that age range. In addition, the pathway provides specialist support, through both consultation and direct work, for children and young people with complex combined neurodevelopmental and mental health presentations. The pathway is staffed by an experienced multidisciplinary team which is being expanded following recent investment.

Job description
Job responsibilities
1. Management of a caseload of young people predominantly with a diagnosis of ADHD and receiving pharmacological treatment for this condition. Work will include liaison with GPs, Schools and Social Care. Work will be under the clinical supervision of the pathway Consultant Psychiatrists.
2. Providing timely written correspondence to relevant professionals documenting assessments, ongoing management and progress using Trust IT and clinical records system training will be provided where needed.
3. Work collaboratively with other teams and agencies to ensure smooth and timely transfer into and out of the service. This will include developing close working relationships with staff from other pathways within Buckinghamshire CAMHS, as well as linking with GPs, schools and Social Care.
4. Active commitment to delivering the Trust's clinical governance agenda. The Buckinghamshire CAMHS service leads its own governance agenda including audit, quality, patient experience, learning from incidents, patient safety initiatives and interrogation of data. The senior leadership team within the Neurodevelopmental Pathway will link with CAMHS management both in identifying areas of concern and feeding back actions, as well as areas of excellence.
5. Contribution to developing and delivering improved clinical services as outlined in the National Service Framework for Mental Health.
6. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the collection of data as required by the Trust and other relevant agencies. This includes the timely recording of clinical activity data, and participation in clinical audit with appropriate administrative support.
7. The post holder will participate in the Buckinghamshire CAMHS medical day duty rota on a regular basis.
8. The post holder will normally cross-cover with other medical staff for annual leave, study leave and brief periods of sickness absence.

* Shall have completed at least four years' full-time Postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
Desirable
* Attendance at MRCPsych course or equivalent Section 12 (2) approval: Mental Health Act, 1983
Clinical Experience

* Held hospital appointments in psychiatry at CT or equivalent.
