£55,000 to £60,000 per annum
9:00 – 17:00 Mon – Fri
* 25 days holiday plus 8 (can rise to 30 plus 8 after 5 years service)

Venatu Recruitment Group are working with a long standing client who are again looking to add to their team. They are a business involved in Offsite Construction Projects and hold manufacturing premises in Newmarket. They are involved in projects across multiple sectors including education, retail, commercial, leisure and accommodation projects.
The Design Manager will ensure products and projects are designed to conform to all client and regulatory requirements. Over time, there may be opportunities to manage additional team members with plans to grow the team further.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Interpret architects’ drawings and ideas into comprehensive working construction and manufacturing drawings.
* Collaborate with architects and clients to understand and incorporate design intentions and requirements.
* Assist in pre-construction stages of design.
* Work within cost parameters of estimates and use innovative design to reduce costs where possible.
* Ensure co-ordination of superstructure design with main contractor and relevant subcontractors to ensure delivery of design functions are in line with planned manufacture and construction schedules.
* Liaise with structural engineers and production managers, interpreting and responding to manufacturing queries, incorporating relevant feedback into the design process.
* Monitor and control design amendments, ensuring all changes are documented and communicated effectively.
* Maintain high standards of design quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Conduct regular reviews and quality checks to ensure design accuracy.
* Lead and manage a team of internal and external designers, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
* Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance and support to team members.
* Foster a positive and productive team environment, encouraging professional development and innovation.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
* Relevant qualifications – HNC in Manufacturing/Construction/Engineering or similar.
* 3+ Years of Timber Frame, SIP, Closed panel timber experience.
* Good understanding of building regulations and RIBA stages of design.
* Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
* A passion for design and creative flair.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
* Ability to work well in a team environment.
* Flexible and adaptable to change.
