Advanced Quality Engineer-2 As an Advanced Quality Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and improvement of our products, ensuring high customer satisfaction and staying ahead of our competitors. In this position, you will work closely with the cross-functional product development teams, providing support and assistance in various engineering tasks and projects. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain a robust quality control framework throughout the product and process lifecycle. Development and execution of quality control plans, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards. Becoming the Advanced Quality representative for product development projects (NPI or CI). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that new products are designed with quality in mind and that all necessary testing and validation activities are conducted prior to launch. Support the flawless launch of new products, integrating Electric and Non-Electric Bicycles, Parts and Accessories (P&A), Specials, and Model Years (MY) within the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) framework. Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive quality development and launch processes in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Contribute to the development of Quality/Compliance Launch Programs, including PPAP elements, and FMEA architecture. Here is what is looks like to be part of Brompton’s product development team Collaborate with various teams including program development, Design, Manufacturing, Tooling & Equipment, Metrology Lead, Supply Quality, and Product Compliance to ensure the successful launch of new products or improvements, and deliver compliant products by influencing design decisions. Contribute to the identification of internal and external customer needs, assisting in project planning and deliverable mapping. Support proactive risk mitigation efforts by participating in design and process FMEAs during product development. Develop a comprehensive understanding of design intent and various manufacturing processes to contribute to critical thinking, problem-solving, and the establishment of control procedures. Identify opportunities for improvement in quality and project lifecycle systems, with a focus on the Quality Management System (QMS). Define control plans that drive inspection strategies for new product integration and volume production. Assist in identifying and documenting quality issues during beta and early production phases, contributing to problem-solving efforts and root cause analysis using appropriate tools. Analyse measurement reports and provide recommendations for product, process, and fixture improvements. Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) measurements to support PPAP completion and drive continuous improvements. Collect and analyze quality data, such as warranty, right first time, and out of box audit results, to identify trends, root causes of quality issues, and opportunities for improvement. Support process improvement activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality launch process. Support the documentation and smooth transition of program quality goals to the Customer Quality (Plant) and Supplier Quality teams. Skills and Knowledge and Personal Traits Demonstrated passion for customer-centric product development in a manufacturing environment. Strong belief in a collaborative approach, team player and the ability to build relationships across departments and throughout the organization. Self-motivated with a drive to find solutions and establish quality systems. Proficiency in at least two of the following areas: APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA, QRQC, capability studies, and SPC. Willingness to develop knowledge in other competencies. Familiarity with quality and problem-solving methodologies and tools. Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment. Experience in a manufacturing-related environment, with an understanding of ergonomic requirements and Lean principles. Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations, altered priorities, and new directions. Ownership of tasks and deliverables in project environments. Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey clear ideas and quality directions to stakeholders. Openness to receiving ideas, experiences, and feedback from colleagues to enhance personal development and improve quality engineering processes. Mentoring skills to guide and develop other quality technicians. Education / Experience You either have: a certification in Engineering (product design, industrial design, etc.) and three years’ experience in manufacturing quality. Or: an HNC or HND and five years’ experience in manufacturing quality. What is in for you?
