Job Description
As a People Partner you will be responsible for providing HR operational support to Regional Directors and Area Managers and will input into, and support the implementation of, the region’s people plan.
You will be part of the People team, who collectively support with the implementation of the People Plan to drive organisation effectiveness, engagement and high performance via various different routes.
You will be the representative for the Retail People Team and manage projects which may span all of Retail and/or the wider business e.g. engagement survey, shop closures etc.
This role is initially available on a 12 month Fixed-Term Contract in our SL Region, which covers our Retail locations in South London, extending to the south coast and sites in places like Crawley, Guildford, and Ashford.
A valid UK driving licence would be beneficial, although not essential, for this role, and a car allowance is included as part of the package.
What you will do
* Provide operational HR advice and guidance to Area Managers.
* Effectively partner Area Managers providing coaching, training, support and challenge.
* Assist the Regional Director and Senior HRBP in monitoring Area Manager performance and capability, identifying where additional support or training is needed.
* Implement Organisation change activity with the regional management teams.
* Support the implementation of key programmes to drive cultural change and improved business performance e.g. Performance Development, Management Development, Engagement Surveys.
* Support the Regional Director with preparing for Regional Employee Forum meetings, preparing presentations and agendas.
* Actively participate in the Regional Employee Forum meetings, listening to colleague concerns and feedback and driving the delivery of actions through Area Managers.
* Support the Regional Directors and Senior HRBP with the planning of the Regional Team Meetings to ensure all area management are clear on the regional plan and their priorities.
* Work closely with colleagues across the HR function, encouraging continuous improvement to build a strong and collaborative HR Team that effectively supports the business.
Qualifications
* Ideally CIPD qualified and Degree educated, although candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
* Experience of working within an Ulrich business partner model and within a matrix model
* Strong communication and influencing skills, and an ability to adapt both style and approach
* Ability to handle complex issues and a capability to make sound judgement decisions in time pressured situations.
* Ability to use data and insight to influence and make decisions
* Good commercial acumen
* Ability to plan, organise and effectively multitask
* Strong technical generalist
