Chief Engineer
Location: Hertfordshire/Essex
Salary: Up to £85,000
Copello are pleased to be partnered with a global technology leader recruiting for a Chief Engineer. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the technical execution of projects involving advanced GPS, RF systems, anti-jamming technologies, and weapons system integration. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of these domains, with a focus on systems engineering for complex applications.
This individual will serve as the technical authority, ensuring that projects meet stringent and complex requirements and are delivered with precision and technical excellence. The role demands hands-on leadership and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership: Serve as the principal technical authority on projects related to anti-jamming, GPS, RF, and weapon systems, guiding teams to execute complex defence solutions.
2. Deep Technical Expertise: Apply an in-depth understanding of systems engineering to lead the design, architecture, integration, and optimization of complex defence systems, ensuring technical feasibility and operational effectiveness.
3. Anti-Jamming Solutions: Oversee the development of advanced anti-jamming technologies for GPS and RF systems, ensuring resilience against interference and cyber threats in contested environments.
4. GPS Systems Engineering: Lead the design and deployment of secure, military-grade GPS systems, optimizing for precision, robustness, and signal security in mission-critical environments.
5. RF Systems Development: Manage the development of secure RF communication systems.
6. Weapons Systems Integration: Drive the technical integration of GPS and RF-enabled weapons systems.
7. Problem-Solving: Address complex technical challenges with hands-on problem-solving, leveraging deep expertise in anti-jamming, GPS, and RF systems to troubleshoot and optimize performance.
8. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key technical interface with clients and partners, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and delivering solutions that meet or exceed standards.
9. Research & Innovation: Lead research and development efforts for next-generation technologies in anti-jamming, RF, and weapons systems, positioning the company at the forefront of defence innovation.
10. Compliance & Standards: Ensure all projects comply with relevant standards and defence regulations, with a focus on quality assurance and technical accuracy.
This position is joining an established team in Essex and will offer some flexible working; however, it is a compulsory requirement for the Chief Engineer to be willing to go on-site 4 days a week as required. This position will require the successful application to obtain UKSC Clearance.
The site is commutable from Hertfordshire, Stevenage, North London, and Luton.
