Job Description:
The Production Engineering Manager will oversee all aspects of production engineering and operational processes to drive innovation, efficiency, and quality. This role focuses on the management and optimisation of production standards, process improvements, and team leadership, while maintaining close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Process Leadership: Manage and lead all production engineering processes, including planning, implementation, and refinement of workflows to optimise efficiency and output.
2. Process Innovation: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in production processes, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to enhance operational effectiveness.
3. Standards and Compliance: Establish, control, and maintain production standards of operation, including welding, machining, processing, and equipment calibration.
4. Problem-Solving and Diagnostics: Manage and address production line issues, identify root causes, and implement effective resolutions while ensuring clear communication with cross-functional teams.
5. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the production engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and accountability.
6. Project Management: Create and oversee project budgets, ensuring cost management strategies align with business objectives and profitability.
7. Customer and Supplier Collaboration: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with production goals.
8. New Product and Process Development: Drive the introduction and scaling of new products, technologies, and production processes in alignment with business strategy.
9. Engineering Support: Provide technical expertise for production and maintenance activities, ensuring seamless integration of engineering solutions within operational workflows.
Skills & Experience:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in manufacturing/engineering or a related field.
2. Demonstrated experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role, ideally within the renewable energy, monopile, or wind turbine sectors.
3. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
4. Proven leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
5. Expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex production issues.
6. Professional accreditation with an industry-related body (preferred).
7. Familiarity with production environments and standards in welding, machining, and equipment operations.
