Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Clinical Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients, particularly in high-acuity settings such as the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The Clinical Pharmacist will collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient care and contribute to the overall health outcomes of our patients.
Duties
1. Review and assess medication orders for appropriateness, safety, and efficacy.
2. Provide expert advice on medication administration and management to healthcare staff.
3. Conduct patient medication reviews, ensuring adherence to prescribed therapies.
4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement pharmaceutical care plans.
5. Monitor patient progress and make recommendations for adjustments in therapy as needed.
6. Educate patients and their families about medications, potential side effects, and proper usage.
7. Maintain accurate records of medication therapies and interventions.
8. Participate in clinical rounds within the ICU, providing insights on pharmacotherapy.
9. Stay current with developments in pharmacology, therapeutics, and clinical guidelines.
Experience
1. A degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution is required.
2. Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is essential.
3. Previous experience in a clinical pharmacy setting, particularly within an ICU environment, is highly desirable.
4. Strong knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, and medication administration practices is crucial.
5. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care are necessary for this role.
6. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating strong organisational skills.

Pay: £45,525.00-£47,206.00 per year
