We invite expressions of interest from Healthcare Scientists to take on the opportunity of a clinically based BMS role with aim to register as a Clinical Scientist in Haematology.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic, motivated and suitably experienced individuals to fill the role of a clinically based Biomedical Scientist. This post includes increased clinical advanced practice activities to support Consultant Haematologists who, following appropriate training and sign off, will delegate department approved roles/tasks. These tasks include report validation, review of reference lab results, telephoning of significant results, triaging of technical queries and contribution to preparation for Multidisciplinary Team meetings.
As a minimum, applicants should be Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered as a Biomedical Scientist, possess an MSc in Biomedical Science/Higher Specialist Diploma/or equivalent qualification in a suitable subject. The successful candidate will be expected to have extensive experience in a senior BMS role and have extensive experience within NHS GJ Haematology with proven record of excellent communication skills with all levels of staff.
There is an expectation that candidates, as part of Continual Professional Development (CPD), will have initiative and motivation to direct self-study to support their clinical understanding as signposted by Consultant Haematologists. The successful applicant will be supported in working towards registration as a Clinical Scientist.
