LHH are proudly supporting a leading energy company at the forefront of the UK’s transition to clean energy in their search for a Legal Counsel. Joining the Edinburgh-based legal team, this role has been created to support the organisation’s growing portfolio of renewable energy projects, with a focus on onshore wind.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Draft and negotiate land-related contracts tailored to onshore wind project needs.
2. Act as a partner to provide timely legal advice to project owners, identifying legal risks and propose mitigations.
3. Instruct and interpret external legal advice, ensuring clarity for non-legal teams.
4. Collaborate with the broader legal team and support other renewable technologies.
We’re seeking candidates who:
1. Qualified Solicitor (Scots Qual) with 4+ years PQE in property, with a strong understanding of land rights, leasing and title matters.
2. Has a background in and/or has had exposure to the renewable energy sector or similar environment.
3. Can analyse legal issues and provide practical advice across all management levels.
4. Commercially astute with strong stakeholder management skills.
