About the role
Asia Triennial Manchester 2025 will take place in November 2025 as a multiple-venue exhibition. Utilising gallery and public venues within the University, it will showcase the work of around 30 international artists and will include an ambitious programme of performances, workshops and events. The Curatorial Research Fellow will lead the research and curatorial research-led practice underpinning Asia Triennial Manchester 2025, working with different stakeholders to ensure its successful realisation.
You will:
1. Have appropriate research, administration and organisation skills to help support the successful the delivery and realisation of a multi-venue-exhibition and related public programming.
2. Have an MA and PhD (completed or in progress) in a relevant specialism (e.g. East Asian art, non-Western art, art history, curating), or have equivalent professional experience.
3. Have appropriate knowledge of contemporary art and artists, curatorial practice and exhibition-making, including recent developments in the discipline.
4. Be able to produce publicity material, artist texts and support the production of academic research publications.
5. Have good communication skills to liaise with the wider research team, external partners, artists, curators and technicians.
6. Be able to support the work of the Lead Professor, Curatorial Research Fellow and other members of the research team and external partners.
7. Deliver relevant student-facing activities related to the project.
8. Be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check if required for project related events and activities.
9. Be able to produce publicity material, curatorial texts and support the production of academic research publications.
10. Be able to research independently and produce both publicity material, curatorial texts, as well as supporting and contributing to the production of academic research publications.
