Lloyd's are seeking to recruit an IT Sourcing and Commercial Manager. We are evolving with a partnership model with key third-party organisations to ensure cost, service and innovation benefits as well as third party risk management and oversight.
Through your expertise and influence, your in-depth knowledge of contracts, finance and commercial models, your understanding of the demands of working in a regulated industry and your experience of managing the complexities of third-party sourcing relationships, you will ensure we navigate assuredly in delivering value and managing risk.
This role will be central to the development and embedding of our Sourcing Management framework internally and in collaboration with our key partners.
Principal Accountabilities
Is a contract SME:
1. Knows and understands the contract(s) in detail, answers contract questions and maintains an FAQ log.
2. Builds partnership roles with the Lloyd's Business Owners, Internal Clients, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Finance teams in particular to ensure the contracts are operationalised and managed in line with business needs, relevant policies and processes.
Manages overall compliance with contractual terms & conditions:
1. Leverages, designs and maintains Contract Management processes and tools (incl. related contractual templates).
2. Ensures that all terms and conditions of the agreement are satisfied, contractual constructs are fit for purpose and mitigates any risk exposures.
3. Manages the end-to-end Supplier Audit process; ensures that appropriate audit controls are in place for Service Provider's processes and invoices, in accordance with the process established in the Lloyd's Policy & Procedures Manual.
Guards the commercial relationship with the Service Provider:
1. Guards and owns the integrity of the pricing schedules and mechanisms and ensure they are fit for purpose.
2. Manages any re-pricing making use of existing contractual mechanisms for cost/price change.
3. Ensures any scope change or extension is commercially optimized using contractual mechanisms.
4. Ensures commercial optimization of the contract(s) by making use of contractual levers to limit or reduce cost and by educating the retained organization on the contractual mechanisms.
5. Evaluates performance and approves any action plans resulting from critical service performance failures.
Further develops and improves the contract:
1. Manages the end-to-end lifecycle process of Contract Changes from development through to execution, including obtaining the relevant stakeholder approvals.
2. Evaluates innovation gainsharing mechanisms, and assures their alignment with the agreed-upon principles of innovation.
Leads on Contract and Commercial Management:
1. Creates vision, clear direction and strategy for Lloyd's business owners and stakeholders across the organisation.
2. Establishes, manages and coaches stakeholders from across the organisation and affiliate entities, to clear objectives and performance expectations in managing the contracts.
3. Constantly monitors process performance and improves working efficiency, effectiveness and impact.
Works with the Finance and tax functions to ensure that proper financial controls are in place:
1. Designs and maintains Financial Management processes and tools (incl. related contractual templates).
2. Establishes and maintains consistent methodologies for performing financial business reviews on effectiveness of the Service Provider relationship.
3. Leads development of charge-back strategy and allocation methodology.
Develops, administers, controls and optimizes total cost of sourcing in line with the business and sourcing targets:
1. Plans and manages budget/ forecast.
2. Investigates and resolves variances in forecasted expenses or usage.
3. Manages any project budget in conjunction with the Head of Lloyd's Operations and Chief Operating Officer.
4. Provides regular financial reporting including budgeted vs. actual expenses, forecasts and financial trend analyses.
5. Manages the reconciliation with actual performance against the business case developed in support of the set of agreements.
Ensures accuracy of all contract-related charges:
1. Monitors and audits all monthly charges to ensure accuracy of Service Provider charges, Lloyd's-retained expenses, and pass-through expenses.
2. Ensures that anticipated and agreed upon Service Provider financial responsibilities are not inadvertently converted to retained or pass-through expenses.
3. Monitors compliance (i.e., Service Providers' performance against contract pricing schedules).
4. Manages cost allocations/ chargeback.
Ensures overall effectiveness of the commercial side outsourcing efforts:
1. Serves as the liaison between outsourcing organization and other corporate entities on finance-related outsourcing issues.
2. Ensures compliance with corporate policies and reporting requirements.
3. Provides direction and support to Sourcing Senior Manager, Head of Lloyd's Operations and Chief Operating Officer as needed.
4. Identifies opportunities for additional value creation, costs savings, risk mitigation and operational efficiencies in Service Provider relationships.
5. Builds an effective partnership with key stakeholder groups, particularly internal clients and business owners of services, Procurement & finance to ensure and enhance overall effectiveness of outsourcing engagement.
6. Is familiar with requirements of and continues to maintain detailed knowledge of key regulatory and market practices impacting contract and sourcing management, including Operational Resilience.
Skills Knowledge and Experience
1. Experience of Contract and Commercial Management in a multi-business unit, regulated industry.
2. Demonstrable experience in managing Tier 1 Service Providers, contract terms negotiation and re-negotiation, financial control, planning and budgeting and managing the flow and gating of commercial documents and change.
3. Specific experience of ITO and BPO contract terms.
4. A good understanding of different sourcing commercial models.
5. Preferred professional qualifications in UK law, and/or in Accounting and/or Business Administration.
6. Interpersonal, stakeholder and communication skills.
7. Significant experience in building teams and capabilities in a direct and matrix environment.
8. Adept at building dynamic solutions and tools, from requirements through to implementation.
9. Contract and Commercial Management.

12. IT Change Management and Delivery.
13. Experience with business operations platforms.
14. A track record of effective leadership; is credible, dynamic, possesses drive and facilitation skills.
