The Facilities department at Dorset County Hospital are excited to announce that we are looking for Security Team Lead to join our In House security team providing a 24/7 Security Service throughout the hospital.

A background in Security is desirable but not essential as full training in security within a health care setting will be given.
• Provide a security presence throughout all areas of the hospital in order to deliver a polite, efficient, and compassionate service to patients, visitors and staff at all times.
• Line management of staff and contracts associated with these services
• The Security Lead Assists the Facilities Manager in the management, coordination and the smooth day to day running of hard and soft facilities services, within the following key areas
• Identify and anticipate changing demands on the service, developing and implementing plans to meet them and leading in the change management process
• Provide a first line quick and immediate response to distressed, violent and aggressive persons (including mental health patients) within the hospital, calming individuals using verbal and non verbal communication skills, where necessary physically restraining and escorting persons from site in order to maintain a safe environment within the hospital.
• Data Protection Act 2018 and the Trust license for the detection and prevention of crime. Where required.
• Undertake physical patrols of the hospital site in line with schedule and in order to provide a security presence and maintain a secure environment including checking closure departments.
