Responsible for the efficient production of Poultry diets in accordance with the Transport schedule and the instructions directed by the Mill Manager.

In your job you will liaise with Mill operatives, other Charge hands, Maintenance staff, Drivers, Cleaning staff, Raw Material Department staff, Farm managers, Anwick Garage staff, Office staff, and the Mill Manager. To gain a full understanding of poultry in MP.
Contribute to that department/ add value by developing requisite skills in this area in line with MP competency framework.
To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc.
To maintain maximum continuous production, unless external factors intervene (such as raw material shortage or plant breakdown).
Liaise with Mill manager to continually seek improvement in the operation of the Mill particularly in the deployment of Mill staff.
Direct Mill staff to carryout their allotted work to maintain continuous production and that the standards of housekeeping are met by the Hygiene and Mill Operatives
Direct Drivers in accordance with the delivery schedule and any alterations that arise.
Aid in the development and morale of Mill Operatives with particular reference to the on job training, performance reviews and competency reviews of the Mill staff.
To contribute to good communications formal and informal between operatives and management
To report to the Mill Manager anything that could affect the smooth running of the Mill including misconduct that would require formal action.
Produce a production programme to meet the transport loading times and report potential problems to the Mill Manager
To maximize the tonnage of feed during the shift
Ensure feed is produced to the laid down standards of oil and physical quality and records are completed
Ensure that vehicles are loaded in line with the transport schedule.
Provide a sample of feed for Farm Managers to examine and check that the feed quality is of satisfactory standard to leave the Mill
Rearrange the transport schedule in line with changing farm demands, vehicle availability or other factors .Inform the Mill Manager (or Deputy) of a Mill breakdown of more than 1 hour or other major mill, transport or on-farm incident
Inform the raw material department of shortage of or substandard raw materials
Undertake other duties as may be required in the absence of the Mill manager through holidays or sickness.
