Job Description:
You will be joining a team of leading experts in exposure science, epidemiology, biostatistics, and public health studying the social and environmental determinants of health across the UK.
You will be based in the Small Area Health Statistics Unit at Imperial School of Public Health, which is internationally renowned for data-driven research on population health and environmental health. You will be leading (research associate) and/or contributing to (research assistant) scientific studies on social and environmental determinants of health, with a focus on data linkage including the use of Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN), clustering and trend analysis, and studying health inequalities. Important challenges include the integration of diverse and complex national geospatial data, the application of advanced model algorithms, and secure linkage to health data assets.
You must have exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, deep knowledge of quantitative methods, motivation for problem solving, experience with large geospatial datasets, ability to efficiently manage large quantities of data, excellent coding skills in R or Python or related programming languages, strong communication capabilities, aptitude for interdisciplinary research and teamwork, and ability to work and learn independently.
