We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work 1-2-1 with a student presenting challenging behaviour in a mainstream primary school in Horsham. This role requires patience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of neurodiverse needs.

With a focus on providing a positive and supportive learning environment, the school adheres to the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Code of Practice, ensuring tailored provisions for pupils with educational and behavioural needs.
- Support a student with ADHD and autism on a 1-2-1 basis, using tailored strategies to meet their individual needs.
- Implement effective behaviour management techniques to encourage positive interactions and emotional regulation.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment where the student feels valued and safe.
- Track the student's progress, adapting interventions to ensure consistent academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to provide a cohesive and supportive educational experience.
- Communicate with parents regularly, offering updates and guidance for continued support at home.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working with pupils with ADHD, autism, and challenging behaviour.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of neurodiverse learning strategies and child development.
- Exhibit a positive, energetic, and patient approach to supporting young learners.
- Possess excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Be adaptable, empathetic, and resilient in supporting students with complex needs.
- Be confident in managing behaviours in a primary school setting.
