Location: Abingdon Campus
Working Hours: Various hours and working patterns available, 38 weeks per annum, paid for 43.13 weeks per annum
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support team at Abingdon & Witney College is expanding this September, and we are looking to appoint professional, energetic, and enthusiastic individuals with excellent communication skills to support our students in various learning environments for the educational year. A good working knowledge of Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and experience working with young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) is preferred, though training will be provided.
These roles require dedicated individuals who enjoy working with young people, some of whom have complex needs. You will possess the skills to support students studying from Entry Level to Level 3, enabling them to succeed and achieve their full academic potential. The successful candidates will work closely with teaching and cross-college support staff to ensure that all students progress onto further programmes of study or employment by achieving all elements of their study programme, including maths and English, as well as developing essential life and independence skills.
The role involves working with students on a 1:1 basis, providing classroom and pastoral support, and facilitating workshop activities in group situations. Every day is different, and the support needs will vary. The college has a friendly, supportive culture focused on bringing out the best in every individual.
In return, Abingdon & Witney College offers excellent benefits to employees, including generous pension and holiday schemes (with potential Christmas closure days), continued professional development, flexible working options, corporate gym membership, cycle/tech scheme, and much more.
Closing date: 3rd November 2024 (midnight)
