Are you a skilled fab/welder? Quest Employment have an exciting opportunity for you! Our client based in Burton Latimer is looking for a dynamic fab/welder to join their fantastic team on a Temporary to Permanent basis.
Duties will include:
1. You will be responsible for fabricating extruded and folded materials and bonding welds using MIG or TIG processes, following specifications, drawings, and instructions to produce high-quality products in line with the daily plan.
2. You will also cut, punch, and fold materials to the required specifications.
3. Bond material using MIG or TIG welding processes or gluing processes.
4. Linish welded components to prepare for painting.
5. Use hand tools and undergo further training on processes to gain product knowledge.
6. Support first-off inspections to confirm setup and accuracy.
7. Contribute to developing a right-the-first-time culture.
8. Report any errors from feeding processes.
9. Perform operator maintenance and housekeeping as required.
10. Maintain expected housekeeping standards.
11. Assist in the Quality investigation process.
12. Support the training of others on processes you are competent in.
13. Accurately complete timesheets and seek clarification from supervision when in doubt.

11. Only use equipment for which you are trained.
12. Follow the SSOW documentation.
Experience Required as a Production Operative:
1. Minimum 12 months experience of working in a busy weld production environment would be an advantage.
2. Level 2 BTEC / NVQ in welding.
3. Further develop knowledge and understanding of general engineering processes.
4. Ability to use measuring equipment.
5. Able to read and understand engineering drawings to produce quality parts.
6. CNC Machine Programming experience would be advantageous (training will be provided).
