An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Physiotherapist to work in the newly created colorectal prehabilitation team. This will be a part time role for a period of 9 months, to cover maternity leave, and will be considered as a fixed term contract or a secondment. This Physiotherapy role will involve working as part of a wider MDT including Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, nursing staff and Surgical teams.
To provide a highly specialist Physiotherapy service to patients in the establishment of a surgical prehabilitation service at Royal Cornwall Hospital.
To provide Specialist assessments, treatment and goal setting with patients pre surgical interventions with complex presentations and/or co-morbidities to optimise patients to help patient flow.
To develop the Physiotherapy pathway service provision for surgical patients, research and implement innovative ways of working, for prehabilitating patients. This could be group work or using technology.
To develop relationships and working practices alongside the surgical inpatient team to optimise input at the appropriate time for the presentations of these patients.
To work alongside the Surgical Band 7 delegating tasks equally to effectively manage, change and develop clinical areas, while maintaining highly specialised knowledge and competence.
To work alongside the Inpatient Therapy Manager and Deputy Inpatient Therapy Manager, and the Professional Lead, in planning, co-coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service.
To highly develop specialist skills and aid the guidance of Senior staff.
