DSV is recruiting for a Team Lead within our Warehouses at Mercia Park – Unit 5. This role will be responsible for the operation of a section within the Warehouse function.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Management Team with daily warehouse operations, overseeing a team of operators, and ensuring efficient operations to meet business targets.
* Providing line management, coordinating workloads, supporting team performance, and ensuring KPIs and quality standards are met.
* Developing team members and fostering a safety culture.
Duties / Responsibilities:
* Managing warehouse operations to fulfill operational and customer demands.
* Training new warehouse operatives.
* Maintaining accurate inventories and stock movements.
* Participating in stock takes and system updates.
* Proposing system improvements.
* Resolving warehouse issues and producing reports.
* Planning capacity and ensuring health and safety standards.
* Maintaining equipment and security, and ensuring a tidy working environment.
* Acting up for management during absences.
People Management:
* Managing attendance and supporting HR issues.
* Communicating operational priorities.
* Reporting to supervisors and liaising with external partners.
* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
* Engaging and developing team members.
* Participating in disciplinary processes and welfare meetings.
Experience & Skills:
* Proven leadership and team supervision skills.
* Strong communication and IT skills, including knowledge of warehouse systems.
* Analytical, numerical, and planning abilities.
* Attention to detail and understanding of customer requirements.
Qualifications:
* GCSEs Level A-C, NVQ Level 2, or equivalent.
* Warehouse qualifications and certifications in Dangerous Goods Handling are advantageous.
* Supervisory qualifications and forklift licenses may be required.
