We are looking to recruit an experienced midwife to join our Trust as the Lead Preterm Birth Midwife. If you have experience of managing preterm women and Multiple Births, this role is for you.
You will work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary teams taking a strategic lead to strengthen preterm birth and multiple pregnancy pathways for pregnant women who are at risk of preterm birth or have a multiple pregnancy, with a key focus on addressing inequalities in all aspects of care.
You will support the provision of pre-term birth clinics and offer expertise regarding preterm birth and multiple pregnancy across East Suffolk and North Essex in line with element five of the saving babies lives care bundle. This will include leading on audit and QI projects across ESNEFT.

Main duties of the job
1. Meet the NMC Standards of Proficiencies for Midwives and be a credible midwifery leader.
2. Contribute to the support and development of all staff within the multidisciplinary team by providing professional and clinical guidance and advice.
3. Establish and maintain a level of service which is equitable, evidence-based and consistent with the recommendations from local and national policies and guidance.
4. Lead on the coordination and provision of monitoring and performance information of the preterm birth prevention service and multiple pregnancies, ensuring the delivery of a high standard service to women/pregnant and birthing people, and their families.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Midwife
* Degree in Midwifery and evidence of continued professional development
* Working towards MSc qualification or equivalent level experience
* Willingness to attend courses and keep abreast of developments in the service
* Leadership or management qualification or working towards
Experience
* Leading and developing services within an NHS trust
* Guideline development and review
* Participation in clinical audit
* Mentoring, supervision, teaching and assessment
* Involvement in quality improvement
* Working in maternity networks or LMNS
* Implementing change in service provision
