Read on Position: Buyer Location: Head Office, Glasgow Job Type: Full time, permanent Hours: Monday to Friday Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE Benefits: 28 days annual leave plus 4 bank holidays, medical cash-back programme, pension, life assurance, perks, staff discounts and more Purpose of Role: The Buyer is responsible for procurement activities of specific categories. This includes working with all internal departments to get required specifications of a product or service to sourcing and negotiate best overall value for the company. Onboarding and managing supplier relationships while ensuring the supplier deliver contractually negotiated services. Making sure that the company Procurement policy is adhered to by supporting internal departments with their purchasing requirements. Raising Purchase Orders after internal purchasing approval and maintaining optimum levels of all stock by building strong relationships with suppliers and all internal customers. This role monitors stock levels to ensure optimum number of products are available from a business perspective with due consideration for financial targets. Key Responsibilities: • Support and take actions to ensure company Procurement policy adherence. • Negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services. • Onboarding, develop and maintain supplier relationships. • Source products or services to required specification to best value for the company. • Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing. • Create and manage purchase orders for goods and services. • Ensure timely delivery of products. • Stocked products replenishment products to agreed stock holding days or min max requirements at each stock location. • Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock availability. • Analyse market trends and identify new suppliers. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations. Detail: Procurement • Source product or service when required to required specifications and to delivery best value for the company. • Contract negotiation with suppliers and making sure internal sign off is given following company Procurement procedure. • Supplier management including negotiating best overall quality, service and price for the organisation. Stock Inventory • Continuously control and ensure appropriate stock levels of goods for all warehouse. • Control the replenishment process and delivery data for external warehouses. • Maintain efficient stock rotation and handling system. • Review obsolete stock, make recommendations of products to become obsolete. • Constantly reviewing the number of SKUs, make recommendations to reduce. Purchase Orders • Create Purchase Orders after internal approval process and send to supplier. • Ensure all outstanding orders are up to date with confirmed delivery date. • Receive Purchase Orders in system where required. Invoices • Resolve 3-way-match issues for stock deliveries. • Work with Accounts Payable to ensure invoices are ready for payment. Business goals • Maximise cost benefit of department. • Develop opportunities to improve efficiencies and productivity. • Achieve agreed SLAs and KPIs. • Look for consistent improvement within work processes to ensure efficiencies Reporting • Regular feedback of results, successes, threats within sphere of influence. • Develop relevant reporting to drive department initiatives. • Health & Safety Responsibilities • To follow all Health and Safety procedures ensuring safety of everyone. • To take reasonable care and attention to current work practices and procedures for yourself, colleagues, others by observing safety rules where applicable.
