Job Description
Working within the Aerodynamics department, the individual will work in the Model Shop as part of a highly professional and ambitious team. Manufacturing and testing high quality 60% model scale parts to test in our industry leading Wind Tunnel.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacture and test model parts for the wind tunnel
2. Work closely with Model Design/Aero and Aero Test Facilities to achieve project demand
3. Keep full traceability of all parts on the Model(s) and within the Departments
4. Ensure the pre-fit model is kept in a state of readiness for pre-fitting
5. Collaborate with the Aero Design Team to identify areas for improvement that would provide faster model change times while maintaining model part quality
6. Raise faults in the Aero faults system so they can be closed in a timely manner
7. Assist in identifying improvements within the Aero Production Process
8. Role model behaviours in line with the company policies and procedures, for example; Health & Safety
9. Maintain a high standard of staff and department presentation, as appropriate for a showcase facility visited by potential sponsors and other VIPs
Core Skills And Experience
Core skills that would be required for this role include:
1. Strong knowledge of standard IT packages (Microsoft etc.)
2. Strong project management skills
3. Ability to take initiative and respond quickly and effectively to problems
4. Flexible approach to working hours at busier times of the year in the car programme
5. Strong attention to detail
6. Competent under pressure
7. Good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with team members well
8. Preferred previous experience with metrology applications
9. Good knowledge of building mechanical assemblies
