The role:
As an ICT Asset Analyst, you will take ownership of our technology assets and play a pivotal role in ensuring their efficient deployment and lifecycle management. Working closely with the various IT teams responsible for IT Assets, you will establish and maintain a process/framework for tracking the status, maintenance, and support of all assets with appropriate communication to IT teams. You will develop software license management strategies in collaboration with management and stakeholders to reduce risks. This role will also represent the Forces IT for any internal or external audits.
Responsibilities:
* Manage software assets within the ITAM lifecycle for the Forces portfolio of products/services.
* Analyse software entitlement and deployment data to optimize our license usage.
* Manage complex licensing models to evaluate licensing options, named versus processor licensing, on premise versus cloud, owned versus SAAS, and provide recommendations.
* Review and approve Software License Change processes and procedures.
* Champion policies and standards.
* Coordinate software license and maintenance agreement reviews.
* Manage life cycle of software assets from identification, requisition ordering, inventory, installation, maintenance to disposal.
* Identify, document, and report license compliance issues by end-users and recommend solutions to resolve issues.
* Undertake inquiry and reporting on asset management systems for all assets and input, maintain, update, track, and report on all assets throughout the asset life cycle.
* Maintain the accuracy of the data in Service Level Agreements.
* Update asset records related to all approved Change activities.
* May lead technology-related sourcing events and renewals as needed.
* Drive and ensure compliance with legislative and contractual requirements.
Requirements:
* Demonstrable Asset or Software Licensing analysis experience in a related industry.
* Coordinating IT Asset lifecycles, Software Compliance, and reconciliation of IT transactions.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
* Manage and coordinate audits by software publishers to ensure minimal financial impact.
* Conduct and lead software asset reconciliation and audit activities.
* Assist Service Delivery in IT Asset Refresh planning, IT planning, and purchasing.
* Manage customer / 3rd party queries on the state of the Assets / Cis.
* ITIL Foundation Certificate.
* Experience with office productivity tools.
* Familiarity with asset management software and/or inventory tracking systems.
* Degree or equivalent working experience in computer science, management information systems, or a related field.
