Blackstone Recruitment is working with an Independent Special School that is recruiting an Occupational Therapist. The school is based in Liverpool, Merseyside. This is a permanent contract, working Monday to Friday 830am to 4pm (flexible/part time considered.) Job Summary Under the overall leadership and management of the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and direct line management of Head of Therapies: • To provide Occupational Therapy support to our students within a multi-disciplinary team. • To assess, plan, deliver and evaluate interventions, either identified via EHCP or internally. • To support class teams in achieving the best outcomes for our students. Key Responsibilities: 1. Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating personalised and group interventions for our students (targeted and specialist support) 2. Work with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic support is provided to our students. 3. Advise on occupational therapy resources and ensure staff are appropriately trained in their use. 4. Evaluate and report on the impact of interventions and student progress. 5. Contribute information to the annual review process. 6. Work with class based colleagues in order to ensure occupational therapy interventions are embedded within our ASD curriculum (universal support) 7. Provide training and support to class based colleagues to improve skills and confidence in using interventions. 8. To facilitate family training and information sessions. 9. Keep skills and knowledge up to date via proactive Continuous Professional Development. 10. Work with our Leadership Team to identify best practice and ensure our practice is current and effective, participating in research projects if identified. Job Specifics Salary: £30,025 to £33,798 (Term Time – 39 weeks per year) Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm Term time only (Flexible/Part-Time Considered) Contract Type: Permanent Essential Requirements: HCPC Registered as Occupational Therapist Recognised Occupational Therapy degree Evidence of Continuous professional development Experience working with highly vulnerable children and young people Completing assessments, planning therapeutic sessions, implementing interventions and evaluating outcomes. Experience in preparing bespoke therapy programmes (e.g. skills based programmes or sensory diets). Facilitating family workshops.
