We are currently recruiting social workers to our Duty and Advice Service team. This team provides front door advice and services at the point of initial contact and referral, as well as out of hours services to children and families within Leicester City. Leicester City Council DAS prides itself on the consistency of advice and services, as qualified Social Workers provide cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Joining a vital team with a supportive and visible management structure, as well as manageable caseloads, you will be offered regular reflective supervision. We also offer agile and flexible working that supports a healthy work-life balance.
We use Signs of Safety as a model of intervention to support sound Social Work practice. In terms of developing practice and learning, you will have the opportunity to participate in group supervision and mapping sessions on casework.

Your Role
As a Social Worker, you will be required to undertake statutory Social Work in partnership with families, other agencies, and colleagues across the council. Using a variety of social work skills and methods, you will work with children and families to offer short-term interventions to resolve their circumstances with our support. You will be responsible for efficient caseload management and work in accordance with the Division's child care policies and relevant child care legislation.
What You’ll Need
As a Social Worker, you will have a qualification in one of the following: Degree in Social Work, Masters Degree in Social Work, Post Graduate Diploma, or Diploma in Social Work, and be registered with Social Work England. With experience in front-line Social Worker practice, you will also have experience working with vulnerable children with complex needs. You will have the ability to manage a caseload and make sound Social Worker decisions, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation and the ability to apply that knowledge in a practice setting.
