Outpatient Sister/Charge Nurse
Are you a motivated and experienced nurse with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care? One Ashford Hospital is seeking an Outpatient Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Outpatients team on a full-time basis.
As an Outpatient Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting the Outpatients Manager in the daily operational management of the department. You will lead by example, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based care to our patients whilst maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
You will act as a senior point of contact for both staff and patients, providing support, guidance, and clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team. In the absence of the Outpatients Manager, you will deputise as required to maintain continuity of service and care.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively support and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Provide clinical leadership and maintain high standards of care in line with hospital policies and evidence-based practice.
* Deliver a high standard of individualised patient care and attention, being sensitive to patients' needs for dignity and privacy.
* Oversee staff performance and contribute to financial and operational management of the department.
* Take an active role in the training, education, and development of team members.
* Lead by example in delivering calm, compassionate, and patient-centred care.
* Participate in investigations relating to Serious Incidents or staff issues when required.
* Drive integration and collaboration between Outpatients and other hospital services.
Hours: Mon to Fri, shifts between 07:30 and 20:30. Occasional requirement to work Saturdays.
Outpatient Sister/Charge Nurse
What we are looking for:
* NMC registration with full PIN and up-to-date revalidation.
* Proven experience in an outpatient or similar clinical setting.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to delegate, resolve issues, and support a team effectively.
* Strong communication and organisational abilities with a calm, compassionate approach.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
* A thorough understanding of safeguarding principles and policies, with the ability to act appropriately to protect vulnerable individuals.
Skills
* Demonstrable knowledge and skills and competency of required clinical practice.
* Phlebotomy, cannulation, ECGs, and intravenous antibiotics would be an advantage.
* Comprehensive written, numerical and verbal communication skills
* Experience in computer skills using MS Office Suite and web based reporting systems
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
* Excellent customer service skills
Desirables
* Enthusiasm for cross functional working within clinical departments as reasonably required.
* Experience in the private sector
* Relevant clinical skills in addition to assist with minor procedures
