The UK Learning and Development Officer will be responsible for supporting the Learning and Development Manager deliver fine art installation, removal, storage, warehouse and driver specific training to our road crew and warehouse teams. This role is integral to supporting Cadogan Tate’s commitment to fostering professional growth and driving employment engagement across our UK sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborating with internal and external subject matter experts to design and develop programmes to build the knowledge, skills and behaviours aligned to our business success.
* Carry out new operative staff inductions in health & safety & removals / art handling skills.
* Support current staff in building skillsets around higher standards of packing, crating, casing, and procedures for less commonly handled items.
* Conduct pre-employment skills assessments for potential employees.
* Carry out quality control inspections of work being carried out at customer sites.
* Carry out quality control inspections of packing, wrapping & stacking of goods returned to store.
* Work alongside the L&D team helping them to create practical training and development materials.
* Delivery of wide range of learning interactions across three sites.
* Ensuring our Learning and Development projects are aligned with our strategic objectives, and our internal talent has the capability needed for the future.
* Utilising various methods of training and coaching including workshops, one on one, group and formal training sessions.
* Inspect the retention of knowledge, skills and behaviours trained and help through remedial actions to close gaps.
* Advise on delivery tools to optimise training effectiveness.
* Ensure training is evidencable and auditable by certifying learners to a minimum standard and maintaining learning records.
* Comply with all Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Previous experience working within a fine art or high value removals company.
* Experience in packing, loading, crating and casing high value items.
* Good interpersonal skills to enable successful communication with employees at all levels of the organisation.
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to inform and advise others clearly.
* The ability to build rapport, motivate others and change people’s attitudes when necessary.
* A strong customer-focused background.
* IT skills (Microsoft).
* Good time keeping and planning skills and the ability to multitask (handling multiple priorities, managing training schedules and meeting deadlines and objectives).
* Strong team working skills and a collaborative approach to learning.
* Willingness to work across Company sites (Greater London & Hemel Hempstead).
* Problem-solving and negotiation skills.
* Proactive and enthusiastic with an innovative approach to work.
* Personal commitment to improving your own knowledge and skills and commitment to continuing learning and development.
