This role involves processing financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and supporting the month-end and year-end processes. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Assistant will have strong attention to detail, an analytical mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process customer refunds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
2. Check bank receipts, ensuring timely and accurate allocation
3. Manage purchase ledger, including invoice processing, credit allocations, and query resolution
4. Conduct supplier statement reconciliation and manage monthly aged creditors reconciliation
5. Support monthly reporting and management accounts preparation
6. Maintain financial systems, ensuring updates and compliance with best practices
7. Assist with cash flow updates related to imports, landed costs, and buyer loans
8. Reconcile company credit cards and manage employee expense processing
9. Generate key financial reports for internal stakeholders
10. Assist in year-end statutory accounts preparation and financial audits
11. Resolve invoice queries via phone and email
12. Handle the financial administration of running a fleet of vehicles, including van tolls
13. Perform ad hoc financial tasks and projects as directed by the Financial Controller
Requirements & Skills
Essential:
1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a finance-related role
2. Proficiency in BrightPearl, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools
3. Strong understanding of financial reconciliations and reporting
4. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
