We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Thurrock to assist with the appointment of a Highway Inspector on a 1.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £17.14 - £22.14 per hour
Responsibilities:
* To work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives/targets.
* To actively promote the Council's Equal Opportunity Policy and Diversity Strategy and observe the standard of conduct which prevents discrimination taking place.
* To ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Council's Health and Safety Policy, and all locally agreed safe methods of work.
* To fully understand and be aware of the commitment to Section 17 Duty of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder.
* At the discretion of the Head of Service, such other activities as may from time to time be agreed consistent with the nature of the job described above.
Qualifications:
* Appropriate knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation including Construction, Design and Management Regulations and Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
* In-depth knowledge of the New Roads & Street Works Act (NRSWA).
