Vacancy: Deputy Team Leader - Day and Night Shifts Location: UK - Royston (onsite) Job Family: Engineering As the Deputy Team Leader, you will work within the Maintenance Team and reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader (TL), supporting with daily running of a team of 10-15 Multi-Skilled Technicians. The role is split between conduction preventative and reactive maintenance tasks alongside your team and supervising the daily activities of the team to ensure the effective, timely provision of quality services. The remainder of the time will be spent undertaking leadership responsibilities as directed in support of the Team Leader, including, developing and mentoring team members to maximise the efficient use of available resources. Your responsibilities: Together with the Team Leader, be responsible for the EHS performance of your team and their safe operating practices, contributing to the Investigation and reporting of all near miss, incidents, with the aim of preventing reoccurrence Delivery and adherence to the maintenance Plan and associated priorities, ensuring that the maintenance team, delivers the required Maintenance input maximising the Production output of the plant, with the effective deployment of the appropriate available resources • Liaising with Production department to minimise downtime of the plant by timely reporting of issues and subsequent coordination, using the CMMS system. Triage work requests in the CMMS system, to make sure there is adherence and alignment from all work requestors, and being responsible for approving or denying work requests Responsible for team's comments input in CMMS, extracting as much detail as possible to the job card, and reviewing teams booked hrs daily Drive "Lean" initiatives in the department, ensure all 5S Checks and housekeeping tasks are completed and initiate and support Continuous improvement projects Requirements for the role: Ideally hold a formal qualification in Engineering such as HNC/HND or equivalent recognised training LEAN qualification or demonstrable experience of LEAN principles and methods Have demonstrable understanding of EHS management principles Experience of working with performance metrics to drive continuous improvement Experience of supervising/management of small teams Technical plant experience (Desirable) Even if you only match some of the skills, we'd love to hear from you to discuss further What we offer: We make sure salaries are fair, competitive and aligned to individual roles, experience and responsibilities.
