Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background in SEND? Do you have the skills and patience to support a pupil with challenging behaviours?
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in Newcastle. This is a highly rewarding role, helping a pupil make progress through structured support, movement breaks, and incentives to encourage engagement with learning tasks.
The Role:
1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviour
Using movement breaks and positive reinforcement to aid focus
Encouraging progress through personalised learning approaches
Full-time position, starting after Easter and continuing into the new academic year (September)
Requirements:
✅ Extensive SEND experience (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, etc.)
✅ Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations
✅ A Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
✅ A passion for helping children achieve their full potential
