You will ideally have experience in estimating, surveying, or costing of joinery and furniture manufacturing for residential development and fit-out projects.
The role will involve working alongside our Estimating Manager, assisting and learning with the preparation of estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Communicating with clients.
2. Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure the accuracy of the estimate calculations.
3. Preparing estimates in full with breakdowns of materials, manufacturing, site labour & prelims.
4. Being computer literate & fully proficient in Microsoft Excel.
5. Relating with clients to maintain existing business and create new relationships.
6. Team working - liaising with the different manufacturing departments within the business to ascertain estimating information.
7. Ability to value engineer projects.
8. Working to deadlines.
9. Costing variations.
As Estimating Assistant, you are responsible for, but not limited to, the logging of new tenders, analysis of specifications, and the design and quotation of tenders for our clients. You will be expected to liaise with clients and assist with securing projects. You will also be assisting your line manager and the directors with ad-hoc tasks and will take on new responsibilities as and when you are trained to handle said tasks. You should expect to carry out any of these tasks and lead by example. Previous experience in furniture estimating is highly desired, but not required.
