The role of the Proposition Development Manager is to develop and deliver compelling customer-led, commercially effective and operationally feasible propositions, that deliver the brand positioning and can be launched into market. Being the voice of the customer throughout the development. What we’re looking for We are looking for an experienced Propositions Development Manager, with knowledge of the financial services market, who can use their curiosity, analytical and creative skills to deliver new propositions. Who you’ll be working with You’ll be working closely with the Propositions Lead, Marketing, Claims, Sales and Service, Digital, Compliance, Product P&L teams, UW, Pricing, Legal, Risk and Financial Promotions. What you’ll be doing: Using business target audiences and working with the Insights teams to understand the audience on a deeper level and identity key insurance needs they have. Using customer and market insights to identify new propositions and create a pipeline of new developments that deliver on customer needs, brand positioning and commerciality. Obtaining buy-in and support from the business and key stakeholder and building a cross-functional team able to deliver the proposition. Working with relevant stakeholders to develop business cases, gaining relevant inputs from other business areas and subsequently build business cases with substantiation for senior management approval. Utilising the Proposition Development Framework through the 4 development stages ensuring all risks are identified, captured and are within risk appetites, all governance documentation is completed, and sign offs are achieved via relevant forums and meetings. Ensuring that at the end of each development phases we have captured budget and resource requirements to deliver the next phase of the development and gained sign off for these. Leading the articulation of the proposition and managing the briefing into the relevant Marketing teams to ensure an effective understanding. Ensure a post implementation review is carried out at an appropriate time, following launch to monitor performance against agreed measurements and business case assumptions, highlighting successes areas for improvements and performance Managing and conduct relevant in-life annual Proposition reviews, present findings to 360 forum and agree to continue, enhance or remove the proposition. Feed monthly proposition substantiation data to evidence the proposition is working to the Product management teams and use for Financial Promotion substantiation management. What skills and qualities do you need Strong experience in Product or Proposition Development within Financial Services is desirable with a track record for delivery Highly driven, self-led and autonomous individual, with strong resilience to pursue business change and the ability to challenge decisions with rational argument Strong communicators both written and verbal, synthesizing complex information in a meaningful way so that stakeholders understand the need for change and buy in to deliver compelling propositions Strong internal and external stakeholder management with the ability to build effective relationships, influence decision-makers and drive delivery. Strong planning and project management skills to enable delivery of the proposition development and annual proposition review Have a flexible approach in a fast-changing and evolving environment.
