About the School
St Francis Xavier’s Catholic Academy, founded in 1842, is a Catholic Academy with a co-educational Sixth Form. We have a strong academic tradition and 1000 pupils across Key Stage 3 and 4. About the Role
The role of an Exam Invigilator / Reader & Scribe is to supervise students undertaking school examinations in compliance with school and legal requirements. Good spoken and written English is essential as you may be required to act as readers or scribes for students requiring additional support. This role is key in the delivery of examination processes and procedures. Exam Invigilators are paid on an hourly basis and are required for a series of morning, afternoon, or all-day sessions. For morning sessions, you need to be available from 8.30 am and for afternoon sessions from 1 pm. Standing and occasional walking are required to oversee the students.
Personal Qualities
An ideal candidate will be flexible, possess effective communication skills, and be a reassuring presence to students in the exam room. Previous experience as an invigilator is an advantage but not required, as full training will be provided. Candidates should demonstrate:
