looking to recruit a Buyer, to support the Purchasing Manager in day-to-day Procurement activities of the site.This role would be suitable for either an experienced Buyer who some solid experience in the full spectrum of procurement, or someone who is maybe either in a Purchasing Assistant / Junior Buyer role now but looking for an opportunity to expand their experience with support, guidance and mentoring. This is a fast-paced, ever developing and forward-thinking organisation which boasts an exciting customer base.As the Buyer, you will be getting involved in:Assist in sourcing and procuring both production and non-production materials and services to keep operations running smoothlyAnalyse demand, generate purchase orders, and track inventory to maintain optimal stock levels in line with company objectivesLiaise with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, resolve supply chain issues, and recommend solutions to the Purchasing ManagerSupport tender processes, gather data, assess quotations, and arrange product trials to secure the best terms and conditionsLead contract negotiations, assess and onboard new suppliers, and maintain strong supplier relationshipsAssist in developing a structured process to evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with purchasing policiesKeep purchasing databases up to date, manage contracts and pricing records, and provide key insights to internal teamsContribute to cost-saving initiatives and play a key role in the successful implementation of ERP based purchasing processesSkills and Experience:Previous experience in working in a purchasing role from within a FMCG manufacturing environment will be essentialCIPS would advantageous but not essentialPrevious experience of sourcing, negotiating with and managing suppliersGood solid understanding of procurement processes and techniquesExperience in roles such Buyer / Junior Buyer / Purchasing Assistant / Purchasing Coordinator / Materials Buyer / Procurement ExecutiveThe application process:Our mission is to support our clients in their creation of an equal, diverse and inclusive workforce.
