The Male Casework Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the delivery of emotional, practical and financial support to all male beneficiaries and acts as their first point of contact; namely men held under bail conditions; former detainees upon completion of a custodial sentence and release from prison; and the immediate male relatives of prisoners. The Male Casework Coordinator is additionally responsible for the volunteer support workers, recruiting, inducting and supervising their work. He is also responsible for maintaining our internal database accurately and in a timely manner.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Act as the first point of contact and liaison between the Charity and all its male beneficiaries, and the primary point of contact for casework correspondence, receiving initial requests for advice and information from beneficiaries.
* Establish a relationship of trust and respect, actively listening to beneficiary concerns and empathising where appropriate; offering information and support.
* Conduct interviews with individuals to assess and review their situation, write up assessments and complete risk assessments where required.
* Produce bespoke support plans in conjunction with the beneficiary, upon assessing and identifying their needs.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and case files related to the programme.
* Process any applications for financial and practical support for beneficiaries, making recommendations where appropriate.
* Liaise with the Finance department to ensure payments are processed.
* Referring beneficiaries to and liaising, as necessary, with other agencies and individuals, including solicitors, chaplains and psychotherapists.
* Institute a rota for contact with male beneficiaries where appropriate to ensure their social and emotional needs are met.
* Conduct interviews and surveys with beneficiaries, to identify any gaps in the current support programme and any improvements required.
* Gather statistics for monitoring and evaluation, providing reports as required.
* Obtain feedback and testimonials (including beneficiaries).
* Assist with the production of case material required for marketing, fundraising and grant reporting purposes.
* Liaise with media or academic researchers regarding any requests to beneficiaries where appropriate.
* Plan and organise social events, seminars for male beneficiaries, and recreational activities for the youth.
* Work in partnership with professionals from other organisations and agencies to support young people and ex-offenders.
* Observe legal, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
Transport Coordination
* Liaise with beneficiaries, keyworkers and the Female Casework Coordinator in terms of transport requests and prison visits.
* Source drivers to undertake visits and ensure they have the requisite information.
* Maintain accurate records and details of prison visits undertaken.
* Act as the first point of contact and support for all male support workers, male youth mentors, volunteer drivers, responding to any incoming queries.
* Recruit, induct and manage male volunteer support workers to deliver front line emotional support and to implement the transport scheme.
* Process and maintain volunteer records, including undertaking reference and DBS checks where required.
* Maintain regular contact, respond analysing their performance and providing regular feedback.
* Ensure volunteers submit updated case information and monthly summaries of contact with beneficiaries.
* Assist in the delivery of relevant training on internal procedures and policies.
* Assist in the development of training materials and resources for volunteers.
* Organise and liaise with external third parties for the development and delivery of volunteer training.
* Service the needs of volunteers both professionally and socially through the organisation of regular meetings and coordinating volunteer activities.
* Implement methods for greater engagement and involvement of volunteers.
Key Contacts
The Male Beneficiaries’ Coordinator will report to the Beneficiary Support Manager and work closely with the Female Casework Coordinator. He will have regular contact with beneficiaries, male keyworkers, volunteer drivers, the Finance Manager and the Operations Director.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The post holder must be available for the core hours of 9am-5pm weekdays from our Brixton office. The post holder must be legally entitled to work in the UK, with no contra-indications in personal background or criminal record indicating the unsuitability to work with children, youth, ex-offenders, vulnerable clients and finance. A DBS check may be required as appropriate.
The post holder will undertake any other duties of a similar nature, which are commensurate with the grade and seniority of the post.
